Do You Speak My Language?

Artist Statement

Working with children and having access to an enormous range of children’s literature, I was quite
interested in the 1950’s illustrator’s construct of childhood. The hopefulness of the post war world exuded through these characters; the language of a future
dream emanates from their work.

These drawings look at that perception and language of hope and innocence; of rapture and wonder.
